Rankin Professor Emeritus of Hebrew and Ancient Semitic languages Millard is recognized as a leading scholar of ancient Semitic Languages at the University of Liverpool. His specialty is ancient inscriptions. As a proponent of biblical historicity, he has written several influential books, including Discoveries from Bible Times (1997), and over 200 scientific papers. He has also participated in numerous archaeological excavations.
