Alex Nibley
Alex Nibley grew up own Provo, Utah with a fascination for the performing arts. He left Utah for the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where he studied acting, directing and arts administration. He eventually became a teacher in the Conservatory and an associate director. Alex later went to Los Angeles, where he studied film analysis and screenwriting with renowned cinema educator Franišek “Frank” Daniel. He returned to Utah and began teaching Frank Daniel’s approach to filmmaking at UVU in 2002. Over the next two decades, in what would become the Digital Media Department, Alex created the Film Production Analysis curriculum, the Writing For Digital Media major emphasis, and the Writing for Entertainment Media Minor. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah in Film Radio & Television and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the American Conservatory Theater. In addition to his academic work, he continues to work as an actor, writer and director in various media. He is known for Field of Honor (2016), Thorpe and H8RZ (2015).
