Andrea Boccadoro
Andrea is an award-winning composer for film, theatre and visual media. Since his first narrative score, he has become fascinated by the relationship between music, character and story, and by the creative potential of multimedia collaboration. He is currently working on a variety of productions, including projects supported by Film London/FLAMIN (Ophelia 2.0, dir. Sharon Liu), Arts Council England (Strawberry Vale, dir. Emi Tse), and the feature film Speaking in Tongues directed by Nathan Deming. In 2016 Andrea was awarded a place as a Music Creative in the Hospital Club Emerging Creatives Pro- gramme 2016/2017, starting a 1-year artist residency and mentorship programme in the Club. In 2015 Andrea received the Jerry Goldsmith Award for his orchestral piece 'Song For Adele', and was selected to attend the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab. In 2013 he was awarded the 2nd prize in the Lviv Music Composition Contest for the choral composition ‘Ave Maria’, which was premiered by the Galician Chamber Choir. Andrea’s work has been screened at the Barbican Centre, the National Art Gallery, the BFI and the V&A Museum, and at festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, BFI Flare, Aesthetica Short Film Festival and the European Independent Film Festival.
