Andreas Nomikos

Born: 1937-01-01

Andreas Nomikos (Lemnos, 1937 – Athens, November 6, 2021) better known as Fterou was an outdoor hawker in Athens. He was selling feathers for dusting and called out in a small voice "wings... and feathers". It has been a picturesque feature of Athens for more than 50 years, from the 60s until today, and the expression "wings... and feathers" has remained a classic. He used a soft voice and pretense to advertise his business. It is reported that many believed that his approach was a sham, intended to attract attention. He passed away at the age of 84 on November 6, 2021
