Daniel Lloyd
Daniel was raised in Rhosllannerchrugog and trained at East 15 Acting School. He now lives in Llandyrnog, Denbighshire with his wife Elen and their two children. He has just finished filming Brassic for SKY and was a regular in the popular Welsh language soap Rownd a Rownd as the character Aled. He completed a year long West End run of Roddy Doyle’s The Commitments at The Palace Theatre, directed by Jamie Lloyd and played the leading role of Deco on many occasions, covered five roles in total and met his musi- cal heroes Brian May and Paul McCartney. Theatre credits include: Tom: The Tom Jones Musical (UK no: 1 tour) As You Like It (Ludlow and Stafford castle) Some Like It Hotter (Nationwide Tour) Mods and Rox (The New Wolsey Theatre), Deffro’r Gwanwyn/Spring Awakening a New Musical (Theatr Gened- laethol Cymru/Elen Bowman). Gluscabi, Melangell, The Princess and the Hunter, Me, a Giant! and Eye of The Storm for Theatr na nÓg, The Comedy of Errors (Stafford Festival Shakespeare) and Romeo & Juliet for Bitesize Theatre. Clwyd Theatr Cymru Credits include: Little Shop of Horrors, The Hub, The Taming Of The Shrew, Animal Farm, Yesterday, The Suicide, Tales From Small Nations, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and 15 consecutive rock n roll pantos inc. Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Robin Hood & The Babes in The Wood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Beauty & The Beast and several portions of Dick. Dan worked for Disney on the Muppets Most Wanted movie at Pinewood studios (he got to meet & work with Kermit, Fozzie and Animal in the flesh!) Television credits include: Brassic, Rownd a Rownd, Will (9th floor Productions for the USA market) directed by Shekar Kapoor and written by Moulin Rouge writer Craig Pearce ASRA (S4C) Dau Dŷ a Ni, Mici in Tipyn o Stad, Dafydd Meirion in A470 (ITV,) and in a number of short films. Dan is a professional signed guitarist/singer-songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist and has had success with his first solo studio album Tro Ar Fyd He is a regular on Welsh television and radio performing his own songs. Appearances include: Wedi 3, Ar Gamera, Yr Ystafell Fyw, Trac, Gofod, Bro, Bryn Terfel’s Gwyl Y Faenol, Pws, Wedi 7, Noson Lawen, Nodyn, Uned 5, Bandit, Heno and many more. Daniel recently wrote, performed and produced the music for the Welsh tv pro- gramme ASRA... he can also be seen in this series playing the role of EMS the com- puter! Other composition work include Dau Gi bach and the hit show Y Doniolis and a re-working of the Wrexham AFC anthem ‘I mewn i’r Gol!’ His director credits include: Miss Wales (In development) Without You - The Badfinger Musical (In development) The White Feather, Arandora Star, The Butterfly Hunter, Far From The Madding Crowd, Toxic Whispers and Cloudbust- ing, It’ll All Be Over By Christmas and two all star Shane Williams Pantos for S4C. He also fronts the Welsh band Daniel Lloyd a Mr Pinc who have released several Welsh language recordings and have toured extensively over the past 20 years.
