Ivan Govar
Ivan Govar, born Yvan Govaerts, was a Belgian film director, screenwriter, and actor. He began his career at a young age, directing his first short film, Nous n'irons plus au bois, in 1955 at the age of 19. Govar went on to direct several feature films, including Le toubib, médecin du gang (1956), La Croix des vivants (1962), and Deux heures à tuer (1966). Despite working with notable actors such as Michel Simon and Pierre Brasseur, his films did not achieve significant commercial success. Govar was married to actress and former Miss France Irène Tunc from 1958 until their divorce in 1964. Following personal and professional challenges, he retired from filmmaking at the age of 30.
