James Thornwell

James R. Thornwell was an American Army Private who, in 1961, was administered LSD without his knowledge during an interrogation by the U.S. Army. In 1978, after learning he had been dosed, Thornwell filed a $10 million lawsuit against the U.S. government, which was ultimately settled for $625,000. He died of an apparent epileptic seizure in 1984, at the age of 46.
