Luis Jordan Lorenzo

Born: None

Luis Jordan Lorenzo is a second generation Cuban-American independent filmmaker and director of photography. His fascination with cameras became apparent at a young age after taking apart and reassembling his father's VHS camcorder. At 12 he received his very own video camera for Christmas and began creating short sketches with friends in his Central Florida neighborhood. Originally getting his professional start in TV production and corporate videography, he made the transition to film through several award winning comedic shorts and a period crime drama feature. Best described as an "old soul," Luis has always been instinctively drawn to all things vintage, classic, retro, antique, or old fashioned. So much so, his films tend to be period pieces which are painstakingly made to create the illusion that they were actually released during their respective eras. He is president and founder of FilmSphere, a production company focused on producing independent period films, most notably crime dramas, as well as a YouTube channel of the same name that showcases vintage video tech and restoration projects.
