Matheus Moura

Matheus Moura has a degree in Social Communication with a major in Cinema and Audiovisual from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais and is in his third year of production specialization at EICTV in Cuba. He participated as a Bammer in BAM - Bogotá Audiovisual Market 2023 with the Colombian feature film LA ROCA NEGRA QUE SIEMPRE ESTUVO AQUÍ (Noctambulos Sas), directed by Daniel Sánchez. PURPLE DICTATORSHIP (2020), his first short film, was selected for more than 100 national and international festivals, including the 15th CineBH, March on Washington 2020 and the 13th Zózimo Bulbul Black Cinema Meeting, the 43rd Guarnicê Film Festival and others. The short was shown on free TV by Rede Minas and was acquired by the streaming platform Cardume Curtas. His second short film, AT NIGHT ALL CATS ARE BROWN, is a Brazil-Cuba co-production and is scheduled for release in 2024. Producer of the short film I NEVER THOUGHT THAT WILL BE THIS WAY (Meibe Rodrigues, 2022), shown and awarded at major national festivals such as the 29th Vitória Film Festival, Guarnicê Film Festival 2023, 25th FestCurtas BH, 27th Mostra FAM and the short film BLOCKBUSTER (Rafael Toledo, 2024), which has just premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival. He has also produced the short films BABILONIA (Duda Gambogi), MATAR A UN HOMBRE (Orlando Mora Cabrera), selected for Cuba en Corto at the Short Film Market of the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival, and ENVIDIO LA CALMA QUE TE TRAE LA FE (Daniel Sánchez), all scheduled for release in 2024. He was recently approved for the BH nas Telas Award with the short film project BOULEVARD ARRUDAS (Ursana Filmes) and co-produces the feature film in development THE MESSAGE OF FIRE (Piranha Filmes and Ursana Filmes), selected for the 17th Nuevas Miradas and winner of the Líneas Argumentales award at Cine Qua Non Lab 2024. He is a member of APAN (Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals). He is a founding partner of the production company URSANA FILMES. He currently lives in Cuba, where he holds citizenship.
