Pedro Collantes

Pedro Collantes is a screenwriter, director, editor and producer. He studied cinema and specialized in editing in Madrid and later studied an MA at the Netherlands Film Academy. Since 2018 he’s a member of the OSCARS Academy (Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences) and of the French Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma since 2020. His short films have screened in international film festivals, including IFFR Rotterdam, Chicago Int. Film Festival, Encounters, or Festival des Filmes du Monde de Montréal. His work has received awards at Clermont Ferrand, Festival de Cine Español de Málaga, ALCINE, Palm Springs and Cinespaña-Toulouse, among others. In 2018 he wrote and directed the short film “ATO SAN NEN”, official selection for the CÉSAR 2019 award for best fiction short film. “EL ARTE DE VOLVER” (2020), the first Spanish project selected in the Biennale College Cinema program, is his first feature film as a screenwriter and director. It premiered at the 2020 VENICE Film Festival. As a producer he received a GOYA nomination in 2020 for the animated short MUEDRA, directed by César Díaz. As an editor he has over twenty credits. Some examples are the series 800 Meters (Netflix, 2021) Antidisturbios (Movistar +, 2020), the documentary series The Alcàsser Murders (Netflix, 2019) and Héroes Invisibles (TVE, 2016-2017), or the documentary feature film Shadow World (2016).
