Selvaraghavan
Selvaraghavan is a Tamil screenwriter, film director and actor. Best known for his collaborations with his younger brother, Dhanush, which include the critically acclaimed films Kadhal Konden (2003), Pudhupettai (2006) and Mayakkam Enna (2011), he is considered to be an important figure in post-2000s Tamil cinema. His films often subvert conventional character writing tropes, with many of his protagonists being flawed characters or anti-heroes, and deal with darker themes within traditional genre confines. Several of his works are considered as cult classics in Tamil cinema. Most recently, Selvaraghavan has ventured into acting, playing minor roles in movies such as Beast (2022) and Mark Antony (2023), as well as a lead role in Saani Kaayidham (2022), for which his performance was received positively by critics.
