Sirat Boumediène

Sirat Boumediène, known as Diden, (Arabic: سيراط بومدين), is an Algerian actor born September 26, 1947 in Oran and died August 20, 1995 in Mostaganem. Born and raised in Oran in the Saint Antoine district, before devoting himself to comedy, he was a seizure agent. He joined the theater at the end of the 1960s. It was Ould Abderrahmane Kaki who discovered his talent at a young age. He appeared on stage with the artist Boualem Hadjouti in plays (Litham, Li Kla Ikhalles, El Balaout) and also with Abdelkader Alloula (El Algue, El Khobza, Hammam Rabbi, Litham, Ledjouad, Toufah and El Meïda). In 1990, Sirat Boumédiene joined the May 1 cooperative, created by Abdelkader Alloula. Two years later, in 1992, he joined his friends from the independent troupe El Kalaâ, made up of actors Mkio Sakina (Sonia), Mohamed Ben Guettaf, Ziani Cherif Ayad and Azzedine Medjoubi. Sirat Boumedienne has participated in television, on the Oran antenna such as the show Ayche Bel Hef, by Mohamed Houidek, or television series like Chaïb Lekhdim by director Zakaria Kaddour Brahim. These two series deal with social ills in the form of comedies. Sirat Boumedienne's career was not limited only to theater and television, he also played roles in cinematographic films such as the film entitled Sous les Cendres by Adelkrim Baba Aïssa or the film Hassan Niya by Ghaouti Bendeddouche. Sirat Boumedienne has taken part in various professional theater festivals, organized in Algeria and abroad. In 1986 he won the prize for best performance at the Carthage International Festival in Tunisia against the Egyptian Abdullah Gaith. He was honored on January 3, 1995 during the first Maghreb Theater Festival, organized in Oran. he also campaigned to promote the seventh art, by creating the Triangle Vert in the company of Mohamed Bekthi, the space created was also called the Café du Théâtre. Sirat Boumédienne died on August 20, 1995, at the age of 47, following a long illness while participating in a theater festival in Mostaganem.
