Thodoris Papadimitriou
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1978. He graduated with honors from the Department of Music Studies of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Master of Music - MMus with specialization in Music Performance - Orchestra Conducting from the University of Hull, United Kingdom (class Dr Lee Tsang). He holds a diploma in Orchestra Conducting (Thessaloniki State Conservatory, Vladimir Symeonides class), a Cello diploma (Music College Conservatory, Michalis Liatsou class) and a Piano degree (Filippos Nakas Conservatory, Thanasis Bilili class). He also holds degrees in Fugue (Filippos Nakas Conservatory, Evangelia Kikos class), Counterpoint (Filippos Nakas Conservatory, Evangelia Kikos class) and Harmony (Music College Conservatory, Ioannis Barouta class). He has attended conducting seminars with Dominique Rouits, Manuel Hernández-Silva and Michael Dittrich and has conducted concerts in Greece and the United Kingdom. He has composed original music for feature and short films, documentaries and commercials. He has co-written the composition of film music with Christos Gousios and also with the musical group The Prefabricated Quartet, with whom they have also accompanied live silent films with their own original music. He has composed music for a number of theatrical performances, having also undertaken the live performance of the music for some of them. His compositional work also includes educational works for children's and youth symphony orchestras. He is the conductor of MOYSA, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Thessaloniki Music Hall, which he has conducted in numerous concerts, performances and also film music recordings. He directs the orchestras of the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki and has taken over the teaching and direction of the Choir of the Israelite Community of Thessaloniki. As a cellist, he has numerous appearances in concerts, performances and shows. His discography includes the participation in the creation and performance of music for the two records of The Prefabricated Quartet as well as the participation as a performer in numerous recordings of other forms and creators.
