Ummey Salma Raaya is a Bangladeshi writer and lyricist. She was born on September 8, 2004, in Bagerhat, Khulna. From a very young age, Raaya had a keen interest in literature and writing. Her love for poetry was nurtured by her father, who was also a poet. Growing up, she was influenced by the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and Jibanananda Das. In her teenage years, Raaya began to write her own poetry, focusing on themes of social justice, human rights, and gender equality. Her work resonated with many young people in Bangladesh, who were inspired by her courage and conviction. In 2020, Raaya worked as a voice artist, lending her voice to various projects. However, it was her collaboration with Tamal Hadiul in 2022 that catapulted her to fame. Raaya worked on Hadiul's song 'Tumio Bishakto,' which was well-received by audiences and critics alike.
