Sundaram came into film industry in 60s, but before that he had his baptism as a writer in stage plays. His first venture was the best venture that sky rocketed him to popularity. He wrote “Vietnam Veedu” play for Sivaji Ganesan for his Sivaji Nataka Mandram, in which the great actor acted the role of Prestige Padmanabha Iyer. He has directed more than dozen films and is well known for his family themes. His stories have been made into films in other languages also. He has now turned actor on the small screen, and has to his credit quite a few television serials.
